In fact the whole question of which comic characters become perennial favourites and which fade into oblivion is a fascinating one (someone ought to do a PhD thesis on the subject, if they haven't already). It's not a simple question either - for example both the original Hulk and the X-Men titles were cancelled, and only became really popular after they were revived. And some characters who are hugely popular with comics readers never seem able to win over the general public (the Fantastic Four being one obvious example). So who knows what would have happened to the Atlas-Seaboard characters!Andrew Mayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17073306343984931484noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2012179240296572398.post-52161324929317243522016-01-30T12:12:20.537+00:002016-01-30T12:12:20.537+00:00Just jumped over from the link in your comment, An...Just jumped over from the link in your comment, Andrew. I'd forgotten I'd read this and commented (in a totally irrelevant way). I wonder what the comics scene would be like today if Atlas Comics had been a success? Maybe we'd be watching blockbuster movies featuring their characters. She was smirking from ear to ear and looking very pleased with herself, which infuriated me. I walked up to her and belted her right in the gob. "What did you do that for?" she screamed. "I always like to strike a happy medium!" I replied.
